John S. Waugh

John S. Waugh

Financial Strategist

John S. Waugh joined our team in October 2022. A newly minted college graduate, and a Finance guy through and through. His early facility with numbers turned into a passion for analytics and strategy. One of his goals, to understand how Existing Home Sales affect the MBS market; and how the Consumer Price Index influences Federal Reserve decisions, has been arduous, but he's quickly grasped the fundamentals as the market fluctuates. John was engrossed in Capital Markets before knowing that Memphis and Capital Markets have a long and storied past. John proved to have a keen aptitude for finance during his various finance-related collegiate activities.

John was one of the founding members of the Fogelman Finance Club at the University of Memphis. Later, he helped manage a $750,000 equity portfolio in the TVA Investment Challenge and won the silver medal in the Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition, an international intercollegiate investment strategy competition.

As a born and raised Memphian, John is a passionate Grizzlies fan. He could have been a contender at 6 foot 5 inches tall, but he left the court after 8th grade. Aside from basketball, he is an avid University of Tennessee Volunteers Football fan. John also enjoys reading business and finance books and biographies.
