Good morning and happy hump day! It’s the only scheduled news release day this week, as we had Mortgage Applications for the week ending Oct. 8th at 6:00 a.m. central. We’re coming off 2 down weeks with a particular accent on last week’s -6.9%, which was a tie for the lowest number in 8 months. This morning we reversed to +0.2%. Home prices are racing to the stratosphere with jumbo loan originations in close pursuit. Up for the 3rd month in a row, Sept. saw jumbo access rise almost 6%. Self-employment loans are another area that’s up, though not as much as jumbos, which are looking at about +1.5% in Sept. Loan access is on the rise, but still some 30% below pre-pandemic levels.
Bonds today are up, with the 10yr T-Notes +13/32 to yield 1.53%. In MBS FNMA 30yr 2.50% are +9/32 to $102-23, which is a 1.85% yield and +85 basis points to the 4.7yr treasury curve. That’s all for us. Call or email if you need help with MBS or loans!
