Good morning and happy Friday! Once again, we’re not going to get any scheduled housing news today. One subject we do have to cover deals with homeowner equity from a different angle. In general, do the borrowers who are still in forbearance programs have low or high equity in those homes? To the surprise of many, most are what you might call “flush” with equity. There are several stories in the street dealing with equity levels being at all-time highs. There are also news stories about the reduction of house “flipping”, at its lowest level since 2000 because of lack of supply.
Bonds today are lower in price, with the 10yr T-Note -8/32 to yield 1.33%. MBS are bucking the trend, with FNMA 30yr 2.50% +4/32 to $103-31+, yielding 1.50% and +81 basis points to the 4.3yr treasury curve. Have a great day and call or email us with any MBS or loan questions!
